Capitol Complex - The nerve centre of the state government and the new hub from where the state's executive is running the administration. Developed on 332 hectares of land, the Mahanadi Bhawan and HOD building, houses most high profile offices including that of the Chief Minister. Close to 32 state departments too have been shifted and are operational in the HOD building. The move has immensely helped in de-cluttering Raipur as the mismatch of space versus the number of employees has been growing every year. The complex is now functional and over 2500 government employees operate from these state-of-the-art offices. The power needs of the complex are partly met through one MW (megawatt) solar power plant built adjacent to the Mahanadi building. President Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the Complex on November 6, 2012.
