Atal Nagar's requirement of electricity will be met in three phases. The city is having an underground power distribution system along with SCADA [Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition] system to have online monitoring and control of power-supply. Non-conventional and alternative energy resources are being deployed to the maximum. Street lighting is planned using latest technology with network control and LEDs. Solar power is being widely used in administrative buildings, streetlights and traffic signals.

Like all other modern cities, infrastructure such as water, sewerage, telecommunications services including electricity are being developed underground."
