Telecommunication

Communication system for new capital city is planned for both wired and wireless services of voice, data and Value Added Services (VAS). Overlay Area Network (OAN) is proposed in the city, which will have 4 loops to cover the total area with optical fiber connectivity, making it the backbone of modern communication and data transmission in Atal Nagar. Besides, backbone infrastructures such as ducts will be facilitated for city-level telecom network for wired broadband and Value Added Services (VAS). Development of passive infrastructure in the city for wireless services, which may cater to GSM/CDMA and other modern services such as 3G/WIMAX etc, is also proposed. 

Like all other modern cities, infrastructure such as water, sewerage, telecommunications services including electricity are being developed underground.
