Introduction

Jatmai Temple is located in Gariaband, 85 km from Raipur.Set amongst the beautiful locales of a small forest, Jatmai Temple is dedicated to Mata Jatmai. The temple is beautifully carved out of granite with numerous small shikharas or towers and a single huge tower. On the top of the main entrance, one can see murals depicting mythological characters. The stone idol of Jatmai is placed inside the sanctum. One can also visit Ghatarani waterfall, a larger waterfall situated 25 km from Jatmai Temple. The Jatmai Temple wears a decorative look on special festive occasions like Navaratri which is celebrated with much enthusiasm and devotion. After monsoons, the waterfall is in full flow making this destination a preferred picnic spot for the whole family. The waterfall plunges into a natural pool that is the best place to take a dip before entering into the temple. The more adventurous can take a hike into the forest.

Gangrel dam is located near dhatmtari on Mahanadi river . It is approx 90 kilometers from Raipur and 15 kilometers from Dhatmtari. It takes almost 1.45 hours to reach from Raipur. The site has garden etc and the reservoir looks beautiful. There are small restaurant nearby and also cottages by Chhattisgarh tourism. Speed boat ride is also available here for the tourists. Also bus service is operated from the gate to the garden for the tourists.
